The
original premises were at
one time a wagon works and
wheelwrights workshop, for
the manufacture of local
farm carts and timber carriages
some of which are still
on show at various theme
parks around the country.
This being the case the
frontage of the old building
had to be kept and sympathetically
restored during conversion
to luxury homes. In this
case Highwood Joinery excels,
templates were taken of
each of the original door
openings and drawings produced
to incorporate the floor
level
and internal partitions.
Once this was done the windows
and panelling were set out
to mask the end of floor
joists before a full size template
was made, taken to site
and positioned for the local
council and builders approval.
From this, Highwood
Joinery manufactured the
frames.
Once completed the frames
were delivered to site,
placed in position and
fixed. Once fixed it was
just a case of a small bead
of mastic to the outside
(yes, the really did fit
that well) to finish of
a perfect job.
